What is your primary product or service?
Pine Village Preschool is an Immersion based Bilingual Preschool serving the needs of children ages 2-6, and their families. Currently in 4 locations: Brighton 617 562 0880 , Newton 617 965 2221, Weston 781 788 6665 and Jamaica Plain 617 201-9088. With a focus on a dual language program, individual cognitive, social and physical development, the bilingual teachers and staff at Pine Village all work towards the same mission: Through an emergent bilingual curriculum and culturally rich environment we nurture children, preparing them to be successful in life, confident learners and true friends. A quality Immersion based bilingual educational program is at the heart of the Pine Village curriculum. Through constant exposure to the Spanish language, cultural activities, games, songs and books, children at Pine Village are developing oral language skills in both English and Spanish. With a focus on individual development, Pine Village stresses small class sizes and excellent teacher/ student ratios.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Brid Martin and Emma Lougheed have spent many years in the field of Early Childhood and Education. Opening Pine Village Preschool, first in Brighton and subsequently in West Newton,Weston and now Jamaica Plain, is the culmination of years of training and hands on work with children. Brid and Emma continue to work as Directors and strive to meet the diverse needs of families by offering a high quality, bilingual, educational preschool program.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are one of the only preschools in the Boston area offering a Spanish immersion program to children between the ages of 2 and 6 yrs. All our teachers are completely fluent in Spanish and English. Each teacher hired at Pine Village is an essential part of this family. The Pine Village Family is a strong and committed group of teachers who have made child development and education their passion.

Directions to Brighton: From Downtown Boston take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) West. Follow the Mass Pike to Exit 20 (Brighton-Cambridge). Proceed through the tollbooth and bear left towards Allston/Brighton (Cambridge Street). Follow Cambridge St. for approximately 1 mile. Turn right into Mt. St. Joseph's Academy and proceed through the parking lot. Pine Village Preschool is located in the rear right hand corner of the grounds. From points west Directions to West Newton: Heading East on The Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90), take exit 16 West Newton, bear left off the ramp and follow Washington Street into West Newton. Pine Village Preschool is located in The First Unitarian Church, at 1326 Washington St.
